Redstone Commodity Search are working with a leading metals group seeking a Russian-speaking copper and zinc product sales head for their offices in Zurich, Switzerland.

Key Responsibilities / Tasks

  • Responsible for managing and developing the European sales book for copper and zinc wire rods and billets; create new business opportunities and manage stakeholder relationships (including customers and shareholders)
  • Promote wire rods and billets to new and existing clients and ensure an optimised product mix while increasing sales volumes and providing excellent customer service
  • Initiate improvements to sales, marketing, and supply chain activities for the product unit and implement sales action plans while taking into account market figures (S&D, competitors, product innovations etc.) and the consumer environment
  • Lead the zinc and copper wire rod and billets team including market analysis and risk management and communicate with the European Sales Director to manage industrial marketing initiatives and to tackle commercial problems etc.
  • Reports into the Sales Director for Europe

Key Qualifications / Experience

  • Fluency in Russian and English is a must; German skills would be a bonus
  • Around 7 to 10 years of sales / business development experience in metals; background can be in base metals (preferably copper, zinc, nickel, or aluminium) or steel; experience selling wire rods and billets is preferred
  • Good knowledge of the European base metals market, basics of hedging, the LME, logistics and shipping principles etc.
  • Proactive personality with experience in creating sales and marketing strategies as well as in managing a team (analysts, sales assistants, junior sales managers etc.)
  • Located in Zurich (Switzerland) or near Zurich (e.g. Baden, Winterhur, Kloten, Baar, Zug, Lucerne etc.) or happy to relocate to the area (Swiss work permit would be a plus)
