Redstone Commodity Search are working with an International Agricultural Trading House looking for a Commodity Accountant for their office in Amsterdam.

Key Responsibilities / Tasks

  • Responsible for the planning, organisation and execution of accounting activities as well as preparation of financial statements (cash flow reporting, balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, etc.)
  • Contribute to the preparation of budgets, develop group financial policy and maintain company guidelines regarding GAAP
  • Manage and coordinate audit, tax and statutory requirements
  • Stay informed of developments of relevant financial regulations in order to anticipate their impact on future financial statements
  • Reports into the Head of Operations

Key Qualifications / Experience

  • 2+ years' of experience in a similar accounting position within a commodity trading environment, ideal candidates will have had experience in a sugar trading environment
  • Basic understanding of / strong interest in agricultural, soft commodities, grains and/or energy trading markets
  • Practical experience accounting in accordance with the GAAP
  • A degree, preferably in business studies, with a focus on international and / or auditing or completed financial accountant apprenticeship is preferred
  • Located in Amsterdam or happy to relocate
