Redstone Commodity Search are working with a major metals producer looking to hire a Business Development/Market Analyst to join the team in China.

Key Responsibilities / Tasks

  • Enhancing the market research and strategic planning for China with a major focus on all primary aluminium and scrap research/analysis
  • Develop the companies market share and presence in China through excellent supply/demand analysis (smelter production, casting product projections, import/export analysis, secondary consumption/production)
  • Exploit new business development opportunities and contribute to the overall growth of the customer portfolio through cold calling and customer demand verification
  • Conduct price forecasting analysis and identify opportunities to the sales team through trade flow analysis, new application demand and market risk research
  • Prepare weekly reports and presentations as well as being able to conduct further research/analysis for areas outside of China when applicable

Key Qualifications / Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a research/strategic planning role within the aluminium sector, either for a trading house, producer or research firm
  • Experienced with all facets of creating and sustaining successful marketing strategies to contribute to the overall commercial success of the sales and marketing teams
  • Strong background within the aluminium industry with good knowledge of supply/demand market trends, especially within China and ideally product demand intelligence for B2B markets
  • Must be fluent in both Mandarin and English
  • Located in Beijing or willing to relocate
