Redstone Commodity Search are working with a shipbroker seeking an FFA/iron ore broker to join their Singaporean office.

Key Responsibilities / Tasks

  • Broke iron ore/FFA (Forward Freight Agreements) for hedging and speculative books for a range of corporate clients
  • Identify market risks and broker iron ore/FFA risk management solutions and services from a trading standpoint to assist clients in both ongoing relationships as well as on boarding new corporates
  • Advise on speculative and hedging strategy for clients covering shipping, logistics, freight and investment houses/banks
  • Work with the wider desks covering dry/wet freight, freight derivatives and broker teams
  • Reports into the Head of Freight Derivatives

Key Qualifications / Experience

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a Futures/Forwards brokerage role (ideally dry freight products)
  • Strong understanding of the marine and shipping industries with experience across a range of ship sizes including handysize panamax and supramax
  • Fluency in Mandarin is beneficial
  • Understanding of risk management, hedging tools and freight as well as the ability to work in a front office, sales focused role
  • Located in Singapore or happy to relocate

 

The successful candidate will be due to start in spring 2018.
