Redstone Commodity Search are working with a major energy producer looking to hire a Desk Head to join the team in London.

Key Responsibilities / Tasks

  • Responsible for setting up a new proprietary trading desk in London focusing on the European energy markets (products can include / not limited to crude, gas, coal, power, emissions etc.)
  • Freedom to set up and develop your own team, ensuring you provide exceptional leadership qualities to maximise success of the desk
  • Utilise various trading styles / strategies (discretionary, fundamental, algorithmic etc.) as you deem fit within the mandated markets to achieve highly profitable results
  • Monitor the team’s P&L and portfolio as well as actively use your own trading knowledge to define and execute on trading opportunities
  • Reports into Group Managing Director

Key Qualifications / Experience

  • 10+ years’ experience trading energy and/or related products on a proprietary basis (crude, power, gas, coal, CO2 etc.) preferably within the European markets
  • Extensive network of contacts within the energy space
  • Excellent, verifiable track record of achieving consistently profitable results / high returns on VaR
  • Experience managing a team and / or setting up a prop trading desk
  • Located in UK / willing to relocate
