Redstone Commodity Search are working with a major metals manufacturer looking to hire a Head of Purchasing to join the team in Germany.

Key Responsibilities / Tasks

• Responsible for the expansion and leadership of a centralised purchasing department for the group’s three different plants
• Ensure the purchasing division retains significant guidance and hands-on management with relation to strategy, process optimisation, automation and KPI establishment
• Active involvement with cost, contract and supplier management as well as price negotiations
• Oversee the current team in place and steadily expand the headcount as the business grows
• Reports into CEO

Key Qualifications / Experience

• Significant experience in a purchasing or procurement position within the metals or manufacturing space (other industry backgrounds can be considered e.g. automotive, with knowledge of aluminium a major benefit)
• Experience leading and growing a team highly desirable
• Strong understanding of the key components needed to establish and run a successful purchasing division
• Knowledge of SAP
• Located in Germany or willing to relocate
