Redstone Commodity Search are working with a commodities trading company in Lugano seeking to hire a senior metallurgical / met coal and coke trader.

Key Responsibilities / Tasks

  • Responsible for maintaining a physical trading book on metallurgical (met) coal and coke in the European/Asian markets
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers globally, as well as securing and enhancing the book of end users and customers across Europe, MENA and South East Asia
  • Keep track of market movements and information as well as pricing curves and analysis to ensure profitable trading portfolio and capitalise on any opportunity that arises from this
  • Negotiate and finalise contracts and supply agreements with customers, whilst working closely with the operational and logistics team to ensure timely and smooth trades

Key Qualifications / Experience

  • 2 years' experience in coke or metallurgical coal trading
  • Strong understanding of the global coal space
  • Knowledge of bulk shipping operations, documentation and letters of credit
  • Ideally experience working with a producer, selling into end users
  • Located in Lugano or happy to relocate
