Redstone Commodity Search are working with a derivative trading house looking to hire a mid-senior level trader to join the commercial team in London. To be reworded so not all intros are the same

Key Responsibilities / Tasks

  • Responsible for running a proprietary trading book, focused on the European power and gas markets.
  • Take a model-based / quantitative approach, trading on the UK and Continental Europe markets.
  • Generate consistent and steady revenue / PnL / returns, rather than trading with large PnL swings.
  • Make markets and provide pricing to the existing client base as well as generating new relationships with power and gas corporates.
  • Reports into the Head of Desk / Business Partner

Key Qualifications / Experience

  • At least 4 years’ experience trading UK / European power and gas on a speculative proprietary basis (market making / customer pricing experience is advantageous).
  • Proven PnL record with consistent returns / profits
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills as well as experience using a model-based strategy to minimise risk.
  • Develop and implement a well-defined process/business plan for generating trading ideas and mitigating risk.
  • Role will be located in the UK, London
