Redstone Commodity Search are working with a global metals group seeking a home office based aluminium sales manager for the European market.

Key Responsibilities / Tasks

  • Manage and develop the physical European sales book for aluminium products (PFA, billets and wire rods)
  • Focus on developing new business opportunities: set up new client relationships and advise on/plan new markets entries. Keep up-to-date about the aluminium market and discuss client needs/potential new product developments needs with the technical support manager and the sales director for Europe
  • In charge of the complete end-to-end execution of all sales deals in cooperation with the logistics and operations staff
  • Frequently travel to visit clients in Europe in addition to visiting the aluminium smelters for up to 20 days per annum
  • Reports into the Sales Director Europe

Key Qualifications / Experience

  • Strong work experience in aluminium sales with a focus on valued added products (billets and wire rods) and/or primary foundry alloys (PFA – standard ingots/T-bars); experience in selling slabs can be considered
  • Fluency in English in addition to fluency in another European language (German, French or Spanish preferred)
  • Independent, self-motivated worker with strong business development skills and experience in handling long-distance supply lines from non-European smelters located in China, the Middle East, India, Russia, CIS or in the USA etc.
  • Basic knowledge of risk management, the LME, logistics and shipping of aluminium products
  • Home office based in Europe (preferably located in Switzerland, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, the United Kingdom, Luxembourg, Austria, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, or Ireland)
