Redstone Commodity Search are working with an up-and-coming environmental trading company looking to hire a carbon trader to join the team to help develop the Voluntary market.

Key Responsibilities / Tasks

  • Responsible for trading and business on the voluntary carbon market
  • Analyse trends in the market including counterparty research to produce accurate forecasts so as to maximise profit through business development
  • Prepare proposals for carbon offsetting based on pre-existing projects as well as conducting onsite meetings and discussion with prospective clients and representing the company at conferences in order to build brand awareness.
  • Develop and sustain a portfolio of clients within the voluntary market, being responsible for the whole lifecycle of onboarding from initial contact through to close.
  • Reports into the director of business development.

Key Qualifications / Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in carbon and/or environmental products markets with a demonstrable track record of relationship building with internal and external stakeholders as well as confidence in your salesmanship
  • Strong understanding of the North American carbon market and associated environmental and energy markets
  • Strong MS Office experience and attention to detail
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiating skills (in English) and an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Role to be based in US/Canada
